Eligibility for CA Foundation
Before you begin the CA Foundation Registration process, make sure you meet the following requirements:
- You must have passed Class 10 (can register provisionally).
- You must appear for or pass Class 12 (recognized board).
- Registration should be done at least 4 months before the exam month.

How to Register for CA Foundation – Step-by-Step
Here’s a detailed guide on how you can complete your CA Foundation Registration through the ICAI:
- Visit the ICAI E-services Portal
Go to the official ICAI registration website:

Click on “First Time User (New Student)? Click Here”
Fill in your basic details such as:- Name
- Date of Birth
- Email ID
- Mobile Number
- Nationality
You’ll receive a confirmation through OTP on your phone/email.
- Login and Fill the Registration Form
Once your account is created:- Login to the portal using your credentials.
- Navigate to Student Cycle > Apply for Foundation Course.
- Carefully fill in your academic and personal details.
- Upload Required Documents
Keep the following scanned documents ready (preferably in JPEG/PDF format):- Class 10 Marksheet (proof of date of birth)
- Class 12 Marksheet or admit card (if already available)
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Scanned signature
- Nationality proof (if you’re a foreign national)
- Pay the Registration Fee
As of 2025, the fee structure is:- Registration Fee – ₹9,000
- Optional: Students’ Journal Subscription – ₹200
You can make the payment online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
- Download the Acknowledgment
Once your payment is successful, you’ll get an acknowledgment slip. ICAI will process your application within 10–15 working days.
You can then download your Registration Letter from your dashboard, which confirms your successful enrollment in the CA Foundation course.
What Happens After Registration?
After registration, students must undergo a minimum study period of 4 months before they are eligible to appear for the CA Foundation exam.
You will also get access to ICAI study material, which will be delivered to your registered address or available online.
